Meet Toronto Police Cyber Crimes Detective, Offensive Tool Agnostics & CTF Recap

DC416’s fourth meetup, hosted at TunnelBear, with two main talks. Detective Constable Nathan Dayler introduced the Computer Cyber Crime (C3) section of Toronto Police Intelligence Services. Lee Kagan’s talk, “Offensive Tool Agnostics”, was about attacking Windows and Active Directory environments with technologies that are already installed, like PowerShell, WMI, C# and the Win32 API, for when the usual offensive tools don’t work.

Two shorter segments rounded it out. Nick Aleks ran through trending threats, hacking news and recent 0days, and Dolev Farhi gave a 15 minute review of September’s CTF and how the teams handled its tougher challenges.
