Exploring Organized Cyber Crime, VOIP Fraud, Arduino based HID Hacks & CTF Recap
The April 2017 meetup had three talks. Iain Paterson of Cycura walked through a real VOIP fraud case his team worked, covering the attack, the methods behind it, how the crime paid out, and the hygiene gaps that let it happen. Brendan Hohenadel presented a tool he wrote for building HID attack payloads on cheap Arduino devices, with a UAC bypass technique and driver loading detection for Windows. Harold Rodriguez gave a step-by-step walkthrough of the challenges from DEFCON Toronto’s first in-person CTF, held in December.
Cycura helped organize the night.
