Women who Hack! Enhancing Threat Intel & 1 Hour Hacking Competition with Prizes!
DC416’s May 2017 meetup was dedicated to Women who Hack, with an all-female speaker lineup honouring women in the community. Cheryl Biswas presented on enhancing threat intelligence. Laura Payne hosted a panel with Kim Crawley, Sarah Qureshi and Lisa Belanger on why infosec is a good field to work in and why you don’t have to be a “super-hacker” to get started.
The night also had a live rapid CTF. Contestants took turns in a fast-paced hacking session on challenges the DEFCON Toronto team called easy yet tricky. The question was whether you could hack it in under five minutes, with prizes for the winners. Women Who Code Toronto endorsed the event, and Cycura helped organize it.
