Latest Threats, Microservices Security, Tor ecosystem & Live CTF
DC416’s August meetup, with three talks and a mini live hacking session. Nick Aleks covered the latest breaches, ransomware and hacking techniques, along with DEFCON Toronto’s stats from the past year and the roadmap for 2017. Zack Mullaly presented on capability-based security for microservices, aimed at helping developers build secure software with relative ease. Sukhbir Singh, a Tor developer since 2012, talked about privacy and anonymity with Tor and what a day in the life of a Tor developer looks like.
The hacking session was a rapid live CTF led by Harold Rodriguez, with contestants taking turns. It followed a live hacking session in May. Cycura helped organize.
