Hunting APTs, Surviving in house Bug Bounty Programs & Hacking Android Phones

Thursday, May 31, 2018 · Pivotal Labs, Toronto ·167 attended

A May meetup at Pivotal Labs with three talks. Apurva Kumar and Jermey Richards presented on Dark Caracal, the cyber-espionage group behind a global malware campaign that Lookout and the EFF uncovered, including fake apps posing as Signal and WhatsApp. Dolev Farhi talked about running an in-house bug bounty program, from the benefits and challenges to how an outside security report can turn into a threat.

Jp Mitri and Amadeus Konopko planned to demonstrate several attacks against Android phones on a custom-built platform, skipping the compromise itself and going straight to what an attacker can do once they have access to a device.
