Exploring Obfuscated Mobile Malware & Cyber Security for AI Systems

A joint meetup with Leading Cyber Ladies at Design Exchange, with two talks. Kristina Balaam, who reverse engineers mobile malware at Lookout, presented on obfuscated adware. Her case study was a publicly traded NYSE company whose popular Google Play apps, TouchPal and Abs Workout among them, tried to get around app store antivirus detection.

Laila Paszti, a technology and privacy lawyer, talked about building a cyber security program for AI systems. She covered AI-specific vulnerabilities and attacks such as adversarial attacks and data poisoning, along with practices like pen testing and bug bounty programs. Wealthsimple and Portag3 Ventures sponsored the meetup.
